Privacy
Last updated October 24, 2026. This site is run by Familiar Labs. Questions: hello@thenexttestament.org.
The short version
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking cookies. The site's fonts are served from this site, so loading a page does not contact anyone else.
- We collect an email address only when you give us one: to tell you when the full edition opens, or to give you access after you buy it.
- We never sell or share your address for anyone else's marketing.
If you ask to be told when the full edition opens
We keep your email address and the date you confirmed it. We send you a confirmation email first, then one email when the full edition opens, and then we delete your address. You can remove it sooner with the link in the confirmation email, or by writing to us.
If you buy reading access
Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe tells us your email address and that the payment succeeded, and we keep those so you can sign in on your devices. Outside the United States, Stripe sells the edition to you as merchant of record, and asks for your name and billing address to work out the tax due. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment: stripe.com/privacy. We keep a record of your purchase for as long as you have access and as long as the law requires us to keep sales records.
If we send you a review link
We send some journalists, scholars and creators a personal link to read the full edition for review. When you use it, we record that you opened it, which sections you read and when, and how many devices it was used on, so we know whom to follow up with and how the edition is being received. We keep this for the life of the review link and a year after, and never share it. If you would rather we didn't, write to matt@thenexttestament.org and we will delete it.
Signing in
When you have access, the site sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in on that device. It is necessary for the site to work and is not used for anything else. Sign-in links sent by email expire after 20 minutes.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses.
- Neon stores the waitlist and purchase records.
- Resend sends the confirmation and sign-in emails. Open and click tracking are switched off, so the emails contain no tracking images and their links go straight to this site.
- Stripe processes payments.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@thenexttestament.org. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
