Numbers
Old Testament · 17 sections · scripture: Berean Standard Bible
The English name is the least of its names. We call it Numbers because it opens, and nearly closes, with a census — two great head-counts of a marching people — and the old Greek translators fastened on that. But the Hebrew title is truer and lovelier: Bamidbar, "In the Wilderness."
