Wisdom of Solomon

Deuterocanon · 5 sections · scripture: World English Bible

A long poem in Greek, written by a Jew who had read the philosophers, addressed to rulers and spoken in the voice of Solomon. The author never names himself and never names Solomon either, but in chapters 7 to 9 he speaks as the king who asked God for wisdom instead of riches, and he prays Solomon's prayer again at length.
